Reversing camera

As reported on many Youtube videos, the reversing camera is pretty poor quality, and sadly mine is the same, it is quite dark, and on sunny days I can't really see much. is this the system, or a poor quality (low res) camera? If the latter, can the camera be replaced with a higher res one?

Thanks for the photo. Mine doesn't seem quite so good, but its still not the quality of a dashcam and under dark conditions it can be difficult to see clearly.
