Rival For MG ZS this could shake up the prices

Yes I think these new PURE EV cars coming out will make MG have to do something new. The current cars are all old and we're not EV's to begin with. We need a modern EV born SUV and small hatchback from MG to continue to be interesting, estate also but that probably won't happen.

As we discuss here on a regular basis, it's also very important to have a competent dealer network with well trained and knowledgable mechanics backed up by a solid spares delivery infrastructure. Establishing a new presence in the market is not easy.

Yes. These are to be serviced [ edit: in Australia ] by a network of places that specialise in low cost tyres and oil changes. I'd worry about when I needed some complex part replaced, even if it's under warranty.

It looks very competitive although looking ahead, I do have a preference for electric vehicles that were designed to be so from day one.

Mg have a long history of wiz, bang fizzle. I worry this post predicts the same……

What are your thoughts on this EV ?.
Larger than the ZS EV and as big as the Enyaq.
Good spec ????.

I’m not so sure that qualifies as a review - more of a sales pitch - nothing negative. To say it’s bigger in the back without actually sitting in it is a bit weird. Are the back seats comfy? Quite like the dashboard - much more VAG. So, how is driver comfort provided for? Apple/Android connectivity? Warranty? Safety kit? Residuals? An app?
It’s still more expensive than the MG with less range but better boot space that does benefit from tie down points and 12v power.
If it had a range of over 350, then I might take a look, but from that video I’m not left feeling intrigued enough to even visit the official website. But well done to them for launching their first fully electric offering - gotta start somewhere!

I'm not familiar with this reviewer but I got the impression that he didn't have much EV experience.

Fine if you need a bigger car, but I was disappointed with only a 200 mile range, when you compare it with the MG SE's 273 miles for slightly less money. No mention of tech in the review either and TBH I don't think it's much of a looker.

Size seemed to be the biggest selling point but to be fair, there will be plenty looking for this.

I am sure i read somewhere that S.A.I.C own ssang yong .Not Sure tho...

That sets one or two alarm bells ringing in terms of long term viability.

It looks ok, not much worse than the ZS, the bigger size interests me, but the lower range puts me off, so won't be cancelling my ZS EV LR order just yet!
