Roof Bar System//Roof Racks

Hi,

I'm looking at purchasing a new MG ZS Hybrid +, but an essential requirement for myself is to fit roof racks (for a bike carrier). The Australian MG website doesn't reflect any official roof rack accessories to fit.

Anyone know what system will be appropriate for the vehicle?

Any general comments would be greatly appreciated as well

Perhaps it’s due to the ZS Hybrid (2025) being marketed prematurely.
No add on’s are available, except perhaps, the ZS carpet set, which fortunately appears to fit.

Has anyone found any roof bars yet? I just checked the Thule website and they still don’t list the car.

My experience of roof bars has been, that they are generally universal. Perhaps you could book a test drive, and wiz round to Halfords, or a local tow bar fitting company who supply tow bar accessories.
If however, the bars are essential, and you can’t find any to fit. I would personally hold off on the purchase, and make your dealership very aware of your reasoning.
As said this car was introduced in a rush. It wasn’t meant to be released until 2025. The haste has resulted in nobody in the UK, including the dealerships, who admit to also being at a disadvantage, knowing any thing about them.
It’s not confined to tow bars, there was also no manual until, probably the worst on line manual I’ve ever seen, appeared recently, and there are no mud flaps. And MG UK don’t appear to be that concerned.
This is a great pity, as the car is very good, once you have fathomed out how to drive it.

The roof rack system appears to be the same as that of VW, Audi and Skoda if you look at the rail.

In the UK I use universal bars available from a popular chain of motoring shops.
Maybe you have something similar in Oz to give you some advice?

I went for the streetwize bars for flush roof rails they fit fine and they also do a rack which has a deflector on the front. Sourced from EuroCarparts but also available on Amazon. Worked really well on around a 170 mile trip last week
