So it's actually quite simple: the Sound Stage option is indeed present but you have to enter Settings -> Volume -> * Scroll all the way down*

@Micropop we were both pressing the EQ from within the "Playing Media", and that will pop up the EQ (only) on top.

Regarding the sub, I have attached a couple of pictures (it is under the styrofoam).

Excellent! Wow, there's actually a lot of space! At least enough to build something A LOT better than that plastic abomination of a pretend subwoofer!

There are several ways to go about that, and I will probably revisit that in the summer, either by getting a high level audio adapter (Active analoge converter), to take the audio signal and feed it to a separate new amp and subwoofer, or get a new DSP multichannel amplifier to replace the stock amp. I guess the system interface harness is similar or identical to the MGS5, and there are ready made plug and play cable harnesses for the

From the pictures, it looks pretty straightforward. Seems to be a decent size space if one rips out the original sub, and it should be possible to find a box that fits. Difficult to judge the size from the pictures, but there seems to be enough space for a 15-20 litre box, which is enough for a decent sub that gives a hell of a lot more "ompf". One should be able to source the signal without cutting or removing anything of the original wires. I'm also in contact with a company that makes custom made upgrades to virtually every car. They said they haven't had much demand for the MGS6 yet, but it's on their list. But as I said, they already have kits and wire harnesses for the MGS5, and this looks very similar.
I'm also thinking there is yet another option, and that is to actually add a strip of styrofoam or similar around the edge of the entire boot, and raise the floor slightly. This would give the option to add a slim but wide box, pushed right up against the seats, like the custom solution for the mgs5. This would also leave some storage space under the boot lid.

This is a bass upgrade for the MGS5.
Should be able to do something similar or smaller for the MGS6.

Oh now you have my total attention, raising the floor slightly not an issue for me. Regarding the “not much demand for S6” we’ll no surprise there, so new very little aftermarket accessories yet.

I had a play in the boot this morning, took the styrofoam out and left the fibreboard flooring out to then tried listening from the drivers seat again. Only a mild improvement so not worth it. Best improvement was to max the 80hz and 75% on the 500hz slider, then min on the highest frequency. Loudness ON in the settings menu. Sound stage adjust to just right of centre (RH drive). Not perfect by any means, but best I could achieve.

Funny enough I was wondering about removing the styrofoam but given your feedback I won’t bother, I’m guessing the sound deadening would hav3 been reduced?

Styrofoam, or any kind of lightweight material, has very little dampening effect on long wavelengths (below 150-200 Hz). That's also why you get just as much (often better) bass from having a sub in the boot.

Not quite sure, but since there are only 2 colors I think it's passive and that it's regular speaker wire coming from a power amp somewhere. Might be a double voice coil subwoofer (hence 4 wires instead of 2).
Or it could be that they didn't bother with different colors, and it's power, ground, remote signal (to power it on) and audio signal.
Would have to measure it to see if one of them has 12v.

New on this forum as I just picked up my white MGS6 the other day. I noticed the poor sound when I tested the car a month ago, but having been a car audio dealer and installer back in the day, I know it can be fixed. Having had it for a few days now, I can safely say that the speakers are actually quite decent, except for the "subwoofer". It just lacks some power and a better sub.

Anyway, until then I just have to live with it as it is. My question though is that I've seen people here mention changing/adjusting the positioning, and I can't for the life of me find that setting anywhere!

I have the Dual motor Luxury model (guess that's the Trophy aka top spec in the UK?).

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I can only find the EQ settings and nothing more related to sound.

Did a "stage 1" upgrade this weekend by installing a new class D amp, with high level input feeding the subwoofer. Also wrapped self-adhesive bitumen sheets on most surfaces of the plastic box, and added a little bit of stuffing. This made quite a difference, though it is limited how much bass that small woofer is able to deliver. "Stage 2" for me will be a new box and bigger woofer.

I've ordered an 8" sub and 600w amp. The sub will fit perfectly in place when I remove the original sub, and is MUCH more powerful.

Did you find out which of the cables are + and -?
Could not see any markings on the amp. Then again, I only looked through the little removable panel. Haven't checked on the sub itself.
