My wife scraped the nearside wing reversing out of the garage, the estimate to repair the dynamic red panel was an eye-watering £600

Scraped as in, a small damage patch like the OP has, or one of those that grind through the paint and into the metal under it the length of your arm

I doubt it, why would MG approve scratch or denting panels?

The wing panel was scratched and the whole panel had to be repainted. the repairer said the high cost was due to the type of paint used (Dynamic Red) which consisted of three coats,

Gutted, only had the car a few weeks and managed to catch the wall on reversing out this morning, doesn’t look as bad as it first did now I have cleaned it, but any guess on likely costs to repair?! Got to be worth repairing properly and not a touch up job.

Ouch! I feel for you. I drove into a pole at the dealer's place just one day after I took delivery. You can imagine how that felt! It cost me £500 to fix

Looking at this thread, I feel comfortable that I'm not alone of scratching my car (front left panel) on the second day after picking up the car couple of months since.( Sorry for sounding not apologically as shit does happen ). I have since forgotten how bad it looks now, meantime will get some touch up paint to disguise it for the time being. Will have to book in for a full repair but not in a hurry just yet.

Not washing it and shining it like a new pin helps as well You don't have to look at it every time you wash and shine it so the scratch stands out
