Second hand car booked in for "AC Heating Not Working"?

Hi all,

Car I was due to drive 2 hours to see tomorrow I just had a call to say it's booked in with MG on Monday with a note of AC Heating Not Working. That's the quote they gave me. They tried to spin it could be nothing, could be A/C not working or AC charging for the battery, but what do we think this could be?

I noticed previously the A/C interface is the old one so it could be a simple software update. I also have heard the temperature setting being wrong in an old update. It passed its MOT last week, although that wouldn't check A/C.

They tried to spin I can buy and then refund if I don't like it when I see it, but not really comfortable with that knowing the A/C might be broken and ideally I'd have the car right now not hang around.

Anyone have any knowledge of issues with A/C in the cars?

If the car has a known issue, don’t buy it. It’s not like these cars are rare gems, find an MG4 that doesn’t have that issue. Dealership seems desperate to sell this one, also not a great sign.

Yeah agreed on this. They do have great reviews and specialise in EVs, but it's odd how they didn't tell me about this issue, only found out as on a call to confirm appointment to me I asked how charged it was.

It's true that the software update often seems to fix minor hiccups in the HVAC.

Yeah, I appreciated that. They did say it was booked in when I called but the guy who took the call might not have known to check the system for it, didn't have to say that.

They've sent me a video, and there's a buzz in the video when they get closer to the car. Could be something else. I've asked them for more details, but in reality it's seeing MG on Monday so is being checked over.
