Your prices are too high. My Peugeot was £60 for small service and £110 for full service. But I agree on the rest that cost should never be higher than that of regular car. 1st year service can't possibly be more than hooking it to computer and quick visual check that everything is working fine.
According to MG website during first service there is no need to even do pollen filter or break fluids those happen every other year at larger service. Coolant is only replaced at year 5.
The dealer i bought the car from said that part of the yearly service was also to update the different computers in the car.
To be honest, that sounded a bit like a scam to me...Not because i dont think they improve the software, but honestly, do i really have to pay them to fix bugs in the software.
I mean, if there was a faulty part in the brakes, they would certainly have to replace that part free of charge, as it was a defective or sub-standard part, why is it, when they fix a faulty or sub-standard piece of software that can be every bit as dangerous to drive with, then i suddenly have to pay for the upgrade.
I never pay to have bugfixes made to the software in my computer, my mobile phone, my robot-vacuum cleaner, my heatin control, my light control, my electric window blinds, my flatscreen tv, my garmin satnav, my solar panel inverter and so on, and so forth.
To be honest, i bet when we get to the 1 year mark, and they want me to have it serviced, they are probably going to charge me atleast £200 because they need and extra hour or 2 to update the computers onboard to squash their own bugs.
