Car settings not retained once engine switched off


The Speed information warning , Mg pilot and forward coliision system when set to off reset back to on when ignition turned off - doesn’t happen with lane assist option - is this correct ?

I believe so, yes. I guess it's something to do with liability - if the manufacturers, erm, enable the disabling of safety features they could conceivably be at least partly liable in a claim arising from them not being available. If you turn them off at the start of a trip, it's your decision.
