Looks like I’ve got a pre-factory fix one after all that. That MG VIN checker said September 2024 but the certificate of conformity in the glovebox says 07/03/2024. It still got the strong new car smell, so surprised it a year old.

Looks like old stock lying around being the real reason it was so cheap might be true.

It’s going in for the damper in just under two weeks and if that doesn’t work I’ll tell them I want whatever the fix is at the factory done to it or probably look to reject it.

Very tempting to put up with it though as I don’t do much motorway driving.

So has yours still got the gloss front lower section or the matte version that seems to be coming through on later builds?

Bad luck on the vibes - it seems to vary so much from car to car. 15k miles in and oddly ours is the best it has been in terms of the characteristic’.

Push dealer for new set of tyres (we did and got Michelins) - the standard tyres are terrible in every respect so even if it doesn’t help with the vibes, it’s a major upgrade.

No it’s got the matte trim and all the software seems up to date. LKA actually seems to work, ACC is actually useable. I suppose the dealership might have actually updated everything.

Everything apart from it having the vibration issue points to it being a later build but the certificate says otherwise. I checked the VIN is actually for mine and it is.

The strange thing with the certificate is it’s got the build date in March but an authorisation date in June!

Build date in MM/DD/YYYY format so yours is July 24.

Strange isn’t. I was wondering if yours would be the same date.

I’ve noticed a couple of minor things with mine that I’ll get them to sort when they are doing the dampers. The spoiler is a bit loose and weather app doesn’t work. It doesn’t update and if you open it then it comes up with an error message. Tried restarting the infotainment but no joy. Does yours work? Not really bothered about it but you’re probably on the same software version.

What’s the manufacturing date - normally found on A4 sheet in glove box or if leased/PCP, then on a tag attached to rear left/underside of the parcel shelf?

At least they're using the international "unambiguous" format on some of their stuff now.

If it starts with 4 digits and a dash you know it means yyyy-mm-dd (assuming it wasn't written by a rubbish software engineer ).

They use a variety of formats on the Certificate of Conformity, but I know for sure that the build date is US format as mine is 08-28-2022

X Powers ride is in no way harsh.
Firm yes, but supple and very well judged IMO.

I have zero rattling but my seat squeaks.
Nothing that a bit of silicone spray won't sort out.
Usually lasts two weeks before re application is required.

My insurance is less than £400.

I don't get hate from any other drivers afaic.

Plenty like to try it on but are dispatched very quickly and humanely.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend an X Power.

Sort out your graphic equaliser and virtual sub and the sounds reproduced are very good. (IMO)

I'm very used to all the 'quirks' of the infotainment and can quickly an easily turn off LKA at the start of every journey.

In fact @Doug C bought one on my recommendation and is very happy with it. (No Vibes either!)

Be prepared to be completely blown away by the available performance.

I've had plenty of 500+ bhp cars in the past, and this car is extremely impressive in the way it gets its power down.

Still makes me giggle when 'The Beans' are deployed.

Absolutely nothing comes close for the money.
