So over the last few times we've used the car over the course of 3 weeks or so, I've noticed that each and every time, the screen and car systems are much slower to start. (4 or 5 seconds I'd say- not timed it yet though)

I usually like to wait before moving off everything is in order, but recently DAB is missing until I select the FM radio button and voila, DAB is selected instead.

I have been used to the car having different start up times sometimes quick, others not so much, but this now seems like the norm.

It's not a massive deal but because it's not how the car usually behaves, I am a little concerned.

Has anybody had similar happen?

With my ZS EV yes once. I am religous now in pressing the start button but not the brake & allowing it to 2wake up" . Then I power up the motor.

My Morgan is a 2022 car with a BMW B48 engine. The instructions are clear press start once without foot on clutch / brake. Allow instruments to kick in then press start with your foot on the pedal.

i'm guess the advance of the ECU etc takes us back to valave TVs. Patience is all.

What start button? The MG4 doesn't have one 😁

@MattyS it sounds like the software boot sequence has gotten a little confused. It might be worth disconnecting the 12V battery for a couple of minutes to reset everything.

Yes it happens occasionally, usually for a few days then it behaves itself for a few weeks. Similar things happen with the traffic sign recognition, sometimes it is off when I start but kicks in after a few miles other times it will stay off for a day or so.

Also, may be linked but I've also found the traffic sign recognition was off yesterday too, is that disabled on low battery (currently at 23%)?

4 or 5 seconds to start booting up is slightly long, FWIW mine occasionally takes about 30 seconds on a second boot up of the day, but normally starts as soon as I sit in the seat. Now finishing the boot sequence is a different story, sometimes it's finished in 5 seconds sometimes it takes longer.

The boot sequence before you can drive is different to that if the infotainment screen. The car starts booting up immediately I sit in the seat and is usually ready to go within a few seconds even with the infotainment screen still booting with its start-up video. If there are any indicated faults then I have to wait for the infotainment screen to boot to use the power off option + power up again.

Booting the infotainment system is different and that can take zero to (exasperated, press the home button to reboot) time.
