Has something changed on the forum, or is it some setting I've accidentally changed, I don't see the add a smiley option on posts anymore ?

sussed it, clicked the three dots next to the "insert image" option there and found it under "more options". Still don't know why it's moved to there though

Is your browser preventing you from doing this? I'd suggest a different browser or checking that you don;t have any settings applied in your current browser that prevents this, e.g. blocking scripts and the like.
