Speed Camera Alert Issue
Having driven the delightful Trophy for the past 4 years and hearing one single bong to alert me of speed cameras within 200 yards or so, I expected a similar experience on the MG4 Premium Extended Range car. No such luck. Driving along the motorway, I was suddenly assaulted by CONTINUOUS CHIRPING BEEPS EVERY SECOND FOR EIGHT HUNDRED YARDS every time there was a camera. Seems there's one on every junction: who knew?? Totally maddening. There was nothing I could do about it whilst driving so I had to put up with it for 8 junctions on the M27. Turned them off as soon as I reached my destination, and switched to the icon to simply display a camera on the screen. Great idea, right? But no, MG have positioned this icon to almost exactly hide itself under the steering wheel on the lower right hand side of the infotainment screen, especially when you're holding the steering wheel(!) Utterly useless there. Couldn't this be displayed in the most useful place for drivers - i.e. on the screen in front of the driver? And can we PLEASE go back on one single bong as on the Trophy, just a few hundred yards before the camera?
