Sporadic Warning Lights and a rattle

Hi all, I wanted to see if anyone else has experiences this and if so what the solution or result was!

I have an MG4 Long Range Trophy, about a month old. Twice now I have had the following alert symbols on the dash:

• Forward collision assistance system
• Lane assist system
• Traffic jam assist system
• General Vehicle warning message advising to look in message centre.

There was nothing in the message centre, I got out and wiped the camera and sensors and the warnings persisted for a day and maybe an hours driving then went away. They reappeared a couple of weeks later, exactly the same for a few hours and haven’t been back since. I’ve attached a pic.

As an aside, there’s also a rattle from my steering column, has anyone experienced this? Don’t want to book in for service or anything if I can change something myself.

When you say you got out and wiped the camera and the sensors, was the top of the windscreen dirty…behind the rear view mirror as such? I believe that’s where one of the cameras for LKA etc is located.

As for the rattle, haven’t heard of anything coming from that area, but it might be worth checking the air vents underneath as the ones on the passenger side have been known to rattle

The warnings may be an issue with front camera module calibration (or even a fault). Report it to your dealer.

No actually I didn’t wipe the windscreen area that you’re referring to but I will if this aren’t comes up again.

I repeatedly get warning messages. Air bags not working, forward sensors, collision warning, lane assist, collision avoidance, sos button, engine management etc. They pop up one after the other. Sometimes they show for a few minutes, others for an hour or more. MG don’t know what’s causing it or how to fix it. The latest idea is change the battery, even though they’ve tested it and it’s fine. Still trying to resolve this issue.

Mine has a rattle from the steering column. Seems to be worse with the wheel turned around the amount needed to turn at a junction. It’s also got a sort lumpy feeling when turning it back to the centre if it was near full lock (like a bump in the mechanism).

I’ve not bothered booking it in yet.

Might be worth having a word with your dealer's service department in case something is coming loose. You don't want to loose the steering when moving.

Yeah, need to get it sorted really. It’s also go a rattle from the overhead panel that contains the interior light and glasses holder. Took me bloody ages to work out where it was coming from as it sounded like it’s from the passenger side and nobody I asked could hear it. Eventually one of my mates could and he said it was coming from my side, so had to be in the middle!

I had an ICE car once that did that. An Escort, not mine, it belonged to the practice I was working for at the time. It did not end well. I suggest you get it looked at.

I also have a rattle that wasn't there from new but has been there for a couple if ninth now. Sounds like drivers side (RHD) aust. Its a clicking sound Oddly it's speed changes as go faster or slower. So linked to so.ething rotating in my case
Hard to climb out whilst driving to work out where it's from. Seems to be around firewall or forward of that.
