Strange grinding like noise

Hello folks. Has anyone experienced a strange loud grinding like noise from their car whilst stationary, not on charge just sat there. Twice this happened today, for maybe 30 seconds. It sounds like someone is using a grinder.

Anyone else experienced this?

No, car was all off. I ran the MG Ismart check and nothing. The car had been turned off an locked for 2hrs. Just very strange, I thought my neighbour was doing some house reno late!

try to see where the sound comes from and record it on your phone; take to MG garage to check it, especially if the car is new. the only thing I can think of is cooling fan, nothing else to "grind" when the car is stationary...
