Strange message on smart meter display …..

Hi,

I’ve just noticed that my Octopus smart meter display has an envelope symbol displayed. It was a message and said that “ESME commissioning completed”.
I have no idea what it means. Has anyone else seen this?

Hi Rob - I take it you've switched to Octopus recently? On Google, they say:

"ESME: Electricity Smart Metering Equipment - this is the physical electricity meter that records the amount of electric energy that is consumed by the property. It also allows the electricity meter to connect to the DDC network, which then allows us to take meter readings automatically and remotely."

Other forums have threads from their members who have reported this when Octopus have begun to read their meters and it's normal, so don't worry and you'll probably get an email tonight from them re your tariff!

Sorry - I meant that this is the message you normally get which confirms Octopus can read your meter and you can move onto their Go or Go Faster Tariffs. When you switch to Octopus, you go onto their standard tariffs initially but I'm guessing you're going to tell me you've been on their Go Tariff for the past 6 months?!
