Just picked up my new MG ZS EV SE Long Range. Lovely car, very happy with it so far.

Except...

The reason I picked the MG was for the roof rails. Which I just realised are only on Trophy and I didn't spot it on collection.

The dealer says MG doesn't offer any retro fit options but says there are blanking plates where the rails would go.

Does anyone know of a good option to retrofit proper rails?

Just joined this forum.

I'm collecting my 2025 ZS SE in a couple of days.
I realised there were no roof rails on the SE, but expected I could retro fit them myself.
Anyone done this? Are the mountings under the blanking strips? Can it be done from outside, or do I need to drop the roof lining?

Any experiences welcome.

Thanks for posting. But that link fails to find a thread.

BTW, I brought the SE with the intention to retrofit some rails.
Brought some from a breakers. But when taking the blanking strips off, found that there are no fixings or holes under there , on the SE roof.
So looks like the roof lining needs to come down and either the mount holes need drilling, or something welded into the gully.

Short term I will probably find something that will hook over the door shuts.

So this is exactly what I've found in the thread post I did. Currently, the post is awaiting review so its possible its not public yet. The Summit rails I've used work perfectly and hook into the doors, the only real caveat is that you have no t-grove in the bars for roof boxes. However, there is a chance I'll test a similar compatible Thule Kit as I've described in the thread. Hope that goes live soon
