Hello everyone,
I'm sharing my initial thoughts after taking delivery of my MG3 Hybrid+ Luxury this past Saturday, June 21st. I ordered it here in Italy, and while the dealer initially quoted a few weeks for delivery, it ultimately took around two months. This wasn't a major issue for me as I wasn't in a hurry, but greater transparency regarding the estimated delivery time would have been preferable.
Initial Driving Experience & Efficiency
Today, I've put my first 100km on the car. I'm seeing an average fuel consumption of around 4L/100km, which is quite promising. I did, however, briefly try two full-throttle accelerations from 20-100km/h, which likely impacted this figure, suggesting it could be lower with a more consistent driving style.
This is my first experience with a full hybrid vehicle. I've found the regenerative braking set to medium to be a comfortable level for now.
Technology & User Interface Observations
My dealer stated that the car is updated to the latest software version. I've seen discussions online indicating recent updates primarily addressed issues related to driving in mountainous terrain. I have a mountain trip planned for August, so I'll be able to assess its performance then.
Regarding checking the software version, I understand it could be found in the infotainment system's settings. I'd appreciate it if anyone could confirm this and perhaps share what the most recent version is, so I can verify my car is indeed up to date. Official communication on specific version numbers seems hard to come by, so any insights from other owners would be valuable.
Overall Impression
Despite some of these minor points, my experience so far is largely positive. Coming from a 2004 Mazda 2, the technological advancements are substantial, and I am generally satisfied with my choice.
I plan to update this thread with further observations as I continue to use the car, hoping it might assist others in their purchasing decisions.
I'm open to any questions.
Thanks!

Technology & User Interface Observations
- ICA (Intelligent Cruise Assist): The ICA feature appears to work effectively.
- Hotkey for ICA Speed? I'm wondering if there's a hotkey or assignable button (perhaps one of the star buttons) to quickly set the maximum speed for the cruise control or limiter to the speed limit detected by the ICA system's camera. If this functionality exists, I haven't found it yet and would find it very useful.
- MG iSMART Binding Issue: My first attempt to set up the MG iSMART app was problematic. After an initial error during binding, the app subsequently reported the car as "already bound," preventing further attempts. Logging out and back into my MG account on the app eventually resolved the issue, but it was a frustrating initial experience, particularly when trying to get things set up at the dealership.
- Speed Limit Display: A minor point of frustration is that when I disable the audible warning for exceeding the speed limit, the visual speed limit display also disappears. I would strongly prefer to have the visual indication remain active even without the sound. Is there a setting to allow this, or is this a known characteristic of how this system operates?
- Driving Mode Memory: It would be beneficial if the car remembered the last active driving mode (Standard, Eco, Sport) upon startup. I primarily drive in Eco mode, and having to select it each time is a small inconvenience.
