From way-back-when I test drove the ZS, I don't remember any badgework etc. identifying the battery capacity.
When my mythical car does arrive, how do I check it is the Long Range version, or do you just have to trust the Dealer/MG?

Hi,
On the MG5 you can pop your head under the car and read the battery

Look at the estimated range on the infotainment display. On a 100% charge, LR over 200 miles; SR under 200 miles. You can extrapolate if the car isn't at 100%. :)
Yeah - Also on the same charging percentage screen, you will find that you are unable to slide the percentage bar down to 80% SOC and get it stay in position on the SR models.
It will keep bouncing back up to 100% due to the different battery type used on the SR models.
On the LR models you can set this percentage at 80% etc and it will hold at your desired position to achieve your required SOC.
On the screen 📺 on the LR it will display an estimated 212 miles of range when setting / charging to a level of 80%.
This can be seen on the App also !.

IIRC someone mentioning the Vin plate info tells you the motor output.
The SR has a 130kW motor and the LR has a 115kW.
