Tesla app query

Just charged at Tesla Superchargers at Gretna Green after noticing the removal of my MG4 in the app, I set my car up as 'other' and thankfully it still charged via the app as normal .

Been on a 5 day holiday staying near Dumfries , visiting South West Scotland and Lake district . Each day I've been charging at Arnold Clarks Carlisle Hyundai franchise. Found their rapid chargers to be just as good as Tesla. Consistent 130kw charging to 50% then usual drop off to about 70kw up until 80% The Arnold Clark charging network seems to be expanding well and it's also a set 55p per kW. Only downside being not much services as you wait on the charge.

Which Gretna Green? The ones in the Retail Outlet park, or the ones at the Services? (Must be the retail outlet, as I don't think the ones at the services are open to all). The ones at the retail outlet are V4 so contactless, but if you have a Tesla subscription then I can understand using the app.

I was going to test mine today but I couldn't find them . As I left the shopping centre I saw them behind me in a local cinema car park receding in the distance 😀. At least I know where they are now

The ones at outlets, yes they're contactless but I was curious to see if the app still worked for mg4 , so activated the charge via the phone app.

Wanted to confirm the app still worked as I visit Fort William from Glasgow often during summer . The Tesla chargers in fort William are app only . Well they were last time I visited.

I've noticed the MG brand removed from the list of available manufacturers. I note that other Chinese car manufacturers such as BYD are also not on the list......

Futher edit to #35
I said I would report back my findings of my latest road trip in this past week so I have been to visit family in Amersham and Blackheath/Lee in SE London over 500 miles round trip and on that journey I have used 2 V3 Tesla SC open to all at Banbury and at Trentham gardens V4s all via the Tesla App and without any issues at all.
So I don’t think there is any issues with MG vehicles and Tesla as long as the vehicles have been updated to use Tesla SC that make 5 SC I think I have used since this thread here was posted and no issues with charging on any.

Only issue I had was while trying to find another Tesla site open to all, to test that’s in Rugby this is listed on the Tesla app and Zapmaps but I failed to locate it, the site is said to be in Leicester Road Rugby, postcode is CV21 1RW there are several shopping areas in an area called Elliott Fields with another opposite on the same road, a large Tesco lots of eating places or fast food outlets like KFC McDonalds I even asked two Tesla drivers in a car park for directions but they had no idea also where they are maybe a member here from that area can enlighten us.

So in summary I don’t think anything has changed apart from the brand names being removed from the listing on the Tesla App.

Google seems to indicate that it's here.

Thanks Ian, but it’s no where to be seen on the ground so to speak, I drove around that area 2-3 times actually use the car park there and the Mc Ds across the roundabout which is where I asked a Tesla driver who was parked there. He also had no idea.

Looking at 2 sets of pictures from Google maps it looks like they should be on a curved part of the carpark close to Currys and Dreams, they look like the newest type of Tesla charger. They are not shown on the Augiust 2023 streetview pic but they are there in October 2024. From the pic on Google with the fences they might have been installed in September 2024

Anon70 many thanks for you post above I don’t understand how I couldn’t find them as I’m sure I saw the Curry’s store but thank you. I will check them out on my next trip down to London. They are at the Junction one retail park then, not at Elliot fields.

@Bricktop X PWR - hi, and thanks for your response. I think I eventually came to the same conclusion, but I always assume that Google will have the most up to date information. Apparently not necessarily so!!
Anyway, it’s great that more Tesla superchargers are open to other EVs than are listed on search forums.
Now I need to see if my ZS can access them……
Hi my ZS worked find on them, also if you on the map use you fingers you can move the map to follow your route and plan a stop if you see a red dot. I am planning a trip to Bradford and I like to use the A1 so will stop at Grantham service top up there then next stop top of the M606 Tesla chargers there.

Selecting other won't work.
Car not charging by selecting other and range 400.

Dont know why MG is removed from the list.
I have tesla charger near to my home but can't charge my MG ZS EV Trophy edition

Not all MGs work with Tesla chargers so I presume they don't want the hassle of implying they do.
Getting the Tesla software put on out ZS2 Trophy long range has improved our quality of life, big time.
I've used the Bristol Eastgate and Cribbs Causeway sites recently. Before 9a.m. at the Causeway it was 37p per kWh.

You need to check open to all. Go to Tesla web site charging then in filled you will find a box to tick open to all and will show the ones that can be used.

Grantham Services Tesla is not an open to all site, Nottingham is nearest to there. Can you make it to the M606 one without charging ?

I do know Grantham service is not open so will be using the other chargers there.
Fair enough, just surprised that you'd need to top us so soon assuming you are departing from your declared location of Elstree. One should never assume though :) Have a good trip to the city of culture 2025.

I always stop there for the toilet and a coffee half way so will pop it on a charger. Went up to Norwich a few weeks ago and started at 96% got to the Grid serve gateway on the A49 and had about 40% left around 80 miles, I have the standard range.
