Tesla app query

Yor forum profile says you have a ZS EV Trophy ... is that correct/compatible with the definition "standard range"?
Yes that is correct it is a Trophy which now comes in standard range or long range, as a Trophy come 360 camera system better seat phone charger which not on the SE model but they have now been deleted for the new car range.

The car type in the Tesla app is just feedback to Tesla marketing on what types of car their customers are driving. It has no effect whatsoever on the charging processes. Set it to whatever you like. Mmm today I think I’ll be driving a Jaguar I-Pace…

I was able to charge fine via the Tesla App on a Tesla Chargepoint at Cannock ( just north of Birmingham) with the car (72 plate ZSEV Trophy connect) set to other on the app.

Not entirely true as some KIA owners in the USA could put in a Hyundai to get the charge working.

The situation in the US is quite different. None of the Tesla chargers there have CCS2, they are all Tesla’s own NACS standard. While some US EV makers are transitioning to the NACS standard, the vehicles you reference need to use adaptors (except new builds from March 2025).

Yes, I know. However, even if you had a KIA with an adapter, the software prevented them from charging, which is why they selected Hyundai as their vehicle.
