If you were pursuing a warranty claim, and thought this would invalidate it, you could simply remove it before taking the car to the dealer.

Mine is never in when it goes to the garage, I even keep a 13mm spanner in the frunk to remove it if I had a breakdown takes less than a minute and the box then goes into the boot complete with the cables I store in it.
