The Problems with PCP

Sorry for putting my nose in, but wtf is this PCP you talk about?

Presumably some sort of financing deal, but how is it different from a lease plan or a purchase plan?

Maybe we have a similar thing in Australia but I have no idea what multiple threads are on about :ROFLMAO:
It's a clever tool to keep you buying new cars forever, as you never own the thing unless you can find a massive lump sum at the end.

Looks like you're going to be staying at home and removing the extras over Christmas. At least it gives you an excuse not to see the in-laws 🤣
I did the maths, and the value of my car is higher than the final payment (just) with all the extras, mileage penalty, etc so I'm keeping it.

Anyways, I want it to become my most travelled car of all time!

The problem with PCP brand new 75 plate 4 Trophy now just £19900.
That's 47% less than I paid in early 2023. OMG!
That is smashing everyone's PCP deals to bits (or certainly those that
thought they would come out of them with positive equity)
My equity is looking more underwater than the Titanic! My MGFV at 4 years / 40,000 miles is £16500. 🤡

At this rate, I might be able to buy a new MG4 for less than this at the end of the deal!

Voluntary Termination is looking more desirable every day.
Absolute bargain for someone though
Yes. For the money, great car that can't be bettered.

Great time to buy - with the facelift around the corner prices more likely to rise than fall in the short term.

Depends on stock levels ... dealers will likely want to shift old stock before the facelift arrives, so could lead to some really good deals.

Final payment on a Trophy now £9801 that is nuts for a 4 year old car
