They still don't get it! (EV sceptics)

Just got this in my new feed.

EVs ‘most likely type of car to break down’ EVs ‘most likely type of car to break down’
Aye but does that include driver tantrums when they don’t understand how to charge or sometimes even drive the wonderful machines.
It’s always easier to put the blame on the inanimate object 🤭
Eg - is letting the 12 volt battery go flat by leaving the “ignition” switched on a breakdown or driver error / lack of knowledge ?

That's what I'd call a "click-bait filler" article ... fills space and is written so as to engage comments (hence boost ad revenue), from both the pro- and anti-EV lobbies.

Pro-EV ... there's little-to-no data in this article, so it's just fluff

Anti-EV ... HAHAHAHAHA! Told ya! EV's are crap!

They're not going to get any clicks from me..

Don't really need to read it that bad, I'll just assume it is the usual anti EV garbage sponsored by the fossil fuel industry.
It does highlight which new sources to avoid though, they could at least put in a foot note that this is a paid article and not the opinion of anyone with a brain .......

The only part I fully agreed with was the charging cable being from a reputable source!

It was scare mongering. The guy that had the bad fire STILL drives an electric car! Says it all really!

I did wonder what model it was that burst into flames (£50,000 car)

I find Sabine Hossenfelder so annoying I don't watch her stuff, but I see Sam being quite roundly criticised in the comments on that video.

The video of his that really bugged me recently was about the self-charging (regeneration) iron ore train. He was gushing like mad about the potential for this technology to be used in all sorts of applications without at any time seeming to realise that it's only applicable in the very niche situation where a very heavy load is being transported from a high altitude to a much lower one. Iron ore is particularly heavy, meaning that the cargo weighs several times the weight of the train itself, and as it rolls downhill it generates a lot of power - enough to charge the batteries sufficiently to power the much lighter, empty train on its journey back uphill. As someone in the comments pointed out, the train is "charged" by the work done when loading the iron ore into the containers.

Sam's starry-eyed take on this seemed to completely miss this point, and indeed suggested that he thinks that the First Law of Thermodynamics is a mere optional suggestion.

Sabine Hossenfelder seems to reinforce the British idea that Germans don't have a sense of humour (apologies to any German members on here).

I think she makes humorous comments, but it's difficult to tell. She annoys the heck out of me too.

It's a while since I watched anything of hers, but it was a video that seemed entirely misconceived. It might have been lauding the great potential of hydrogen cars, or saying that EVs are problematic and won't really catch on. I don't remember, but it was pretty stupid.

I did see people in the comment's on Sam's video telling him that a remark she made about fusion-powered cars was a joke, which Sam had taken seriously.

(British humour? What's that? I remember English people declaring that Andy Murray was "dour" and had no sense of humour while I was cracking up at his dry, dead-pan wit.)

He is as bad as the anti EV lobby, I wouldn't trust a word he says.
He's very sloppy. I think he is just trying to put out as much content as possible to make money. He's mentioned that his wife is ill.

Sometimes his stuff is good but he just seeks out information and regurgitates it with extra speculation, irrespective of how good quality the source is.
