I find Sabine Hossenfelder so annoying I don't watch her stuff, but I see Sam being quite roundly criticised in the comments on that video.
The video of his that really bugged me recently was about the self-charging (regeneration) iron ore train. He was gushing like mad about the potential for this technology to be used in all sorts of applications without at any time seeming to realise that it's only applicable in the very niche situation where a very heavy load is being transported from a high altitude to a much lower one. Iron ore is particularly heavy, meaning that the cargo weighs several times the weight of the train itself, and as it rolls downhill it generates a lot of power - enough to charge the batteries sufficiently to power the much lighter, empty train on its journey back uphill. As someone in the comments pointed out, the train is "charged" by the work done when loading the iron ore into the containers.
Sam's starry-eyed take on this seemed to completely miss this point, and indeed suggested that he thinks that the First Law of Thermodynamics is a mere optional suggestion.
