Things I have learned about the S6 today.

i found out that if you have MG pilot engaged at a roundabout it can show the cars on the roundabout drifting across the screen

How was it working on the roundabout with the line keeping assist, do you have it turned on?

I was wondering about the tragic dipped beam lights and whether it could be improved with a bulb swap - then opened the froot, looked at the impenetrable front end, closed it and went in the house.
I was quite surprised at the amount of dirt that had collected in the dip around that area, something to look out for over time perhaps?

I don't think you can change any of the main led lights on the car, likely to be a completely sealed unit. I noticed the front lights are a bit "shorter" than on my other cars but I'm actually OK with them, makes me drive a touch slower 🙂 and it's less annoying since nobody is flashing me non-stop thinking I have high beams on 😅... What I'm not quite happy about is how flashing high beams works, it's not fast flashing but almost a second long on/off "flash" so it looks weird when signalling someone or flashing "thanks" ...
As for the dirt, yes, all the dirt and dust would get in from around the front wheels, hopefully not much of a problem unless some water also seeps in... any wet patches that you noticed around there?

I suppose that all makes sense, and I have noticed I've slowed a little, although mainly due to the HUD game I play by trying to not allow the speed sign to flash at me....sad, but true.

No wet patches there, but it does question the competency of the rubber seal around there if that much guff has got in. Not a major thing, just something I noticed while taking the charger cable out today.

I do object to headlight bulbs being a dealer only replacement job though...

Question: anyone managed to fix the regen setting on anything else than 1 and have the car start in that regen setting next time you turn it on? I hoped Custom Mode would save it but it's not ...

Nope. Currently it defaults to 1 at start up, that may change but for now as part of my starting routine it's engage MG Pilot, change region, becomes natural.

Why change the regen? It's more efficient to let the car roll as freely as possible. That also forces you more to use the brakes, so you don't risk the problem with break discs and pads rusting. You get the added benefit of regen when braking anyway.

I actually like town driving with strong regen rather than low regen, don't like OPD though. When out of town I switch back to low, It’s a personal thing I can see, the other half hates regen, horses for courses so it is.

True, breaks add quite a bit of regen, great improvement compared to my old ZS...
For me, it's always regen 3- I have some hilly roads around where I live and regen 3 is perfect for going down the hill whilst saving my break pads from wearing out 💸💸😅. Plenty of breaking in urban traffic anyway ...

Never know when this might come useful - emergency high voltage system disconnect :

So today for the first time ever I saw the space available with the rear seats down (need to do a run to the dump), never dropped the seats when viewing and considering the car, knew it was big enough for our daily needs but with the seats down in is massive!!!!!

Fortunately the aftermarket boot liner I brought over from the X-Power still manages to give protection for the entire boot area, waterproof, doggy proof and also machine washable, well pleased with that.

No need to remove or even touch the rear set protector which is back in place because the other half refuses to use the boot until the whole issue of it not raising or locking properly is sorted.

But finally, today I learnt the back seats had an incline function accessed by the rear seat handle. Nice.

I've come to learn that it's seems there is no "connection" whatsoever between the navi and the car itself when it comes to predicting range and what SoC you will arrive with. The navi is outright useless in that matter! I had 54% SoC when I was about to travel 180km. Car said I had 220km range, which is about right, but the navi predicted I would arrive with 25% SoC! Simple math says that the navi thinks the car would have a total range of 620 km, which is almost 28% more than the wltp range of 485.
And it kept on with similar range prediction until the actual SoC was about to reach the navi's predicted SoC at arrival.
Absolutely ridiculous. A lot of room for improvement in that departement!

And it kept on with similar range prediction until the actual SoC was about to reach the navi's predicted SoC at arrival.
So it kept saying you would arrive with 25% left until you reached 25%, what happened then? Was it accurate then?

Not quite. It gradually went down as I got towards 25% SoC, and then kept going down with the actual SoC, with about 4-5 percentage points difference between them. Went to down to 13% with about 20km left, and that was the actual SoC when I arrived at the destination.

Just got my S6 and loving it but for ............. learnt that I cannot set charging to 80% but can only do so by setting time limit.

Bummer as I understand that NMC do not like being charged to full charge.

Sure you can! In the app. Charge management.

Settings are in the infotainment screen but also in the iSmart app that @Micropop posted. You have so much rage on this car that you don't have to charge every day and not even to 80% for Singapore driving ... (unless you are a taxi driver 🙂). Spend time reading the manual and play around with the screen - ENJOY and don't worry too much ! Great car
