Things I have learned about the S6 today.

Good evening.

Today I have:

1) signed into the car’s Spotify and YouTube apps, both work using the inbuilt sim.

2) Having linked to the houses WiFi through the WLAN inbuilt in the car I was able to make sure it had the latest software installed.

This was nice 😇
 
Good morning.

The learning continues, today I have been speaking to my dealer following exploring the Intelligent Drive cluster display option, my car shows the lanes and hard shoulder but does not show surrounding vehicles from the radar.

Seems the dealer demo is the same even though it had surrounding vehicles previously, they think feature has been removed with software update, possibly MG working on it. We shall see…….
 
I thought over-the-air update restrictions , were more to do with the UK Government not trusting the Chinese, in that they may install spyware.

Interesting. Personally if we are talking about trips or potential purchases within range of a mobile phone within 5 minutes we are bombarded with adds for such things.

Don't think there have been any OTA updates by MG, they have talked about this year but starting with the IMs
 
Just adding to this thread...
  1. The S6 does indeed have a subwoofer, under the padding in the boot
  2. Said subwoofer is rubbish
  3. Curiously, I do seem to see surrounding vehicles on the cluster display
  4. There's no remote unlock for the Frunk..it's the old fashioned bonnet lever in the cabin.
  5. Marketing gumpf for S6 states it does support OTA updates, which don't come out of your monthly 1Gb data allowance.
  6. My S6 says software is up to date
  7. TPMS seems to have a mind of it's own at times, advising of low pressure on a tyre with the same pressure as all the others.... An error which then curiously disappears...
  8. Reversing camera occasionally does not activate when you select reverse and screen remains on Android Auto. You then have to select D and then R again for it to activate.
  9. Driver seat memory position can be a bit temperamental.
  10. Just like my previous S5, heavy rain can disable the ADAS features like lane assist and Intelligent cruise control

As has been said, in response to point 5.

All new MGs support OTA updates however MG haven't implemented it.
It is due to be rolled out to the IMs this year.

If the updates are like other makes they will arrive when your car has been left linked to your house WiFi
