Things I have learned about the S6 today.

Sooo anyhoo, today I have been mostly sorting shit and having a play with the infotainment system sound. Yes the Trophy models benefit from an 11 speaker system which means a physically subwoofer is stored under the car’s polystyrene trim on the boot. Has been a few comments about the sound quality of the system so today I had a bit of a fiddle to get it set up for my personal preference.

Stage one, the equaliser, went for a custom setting, went for increased bottom end and decreased top.

Moved on to the positioning, given the subwoofer is in the boot ditched turning off the rear and moved the position slightly behind the front seats and towords the driver, made a big difference IMPO.

It’s a personal preference, and while not pèfect, lot better than standard, turn the music up!!

Ha..my equaliser settings are almost identical to yours 😉
I've not played around with the positioning, so will give that a try

Ah! That's interesting. I'd moved the positioning forward, roughly level with my ears. The reasoning being the kids don't like Radio 4 or Classic FM... and they've always got their headphones on/in anyway the moment they get in the car. I'll try that. I do appreciate in normal set-ups that it doesn't matter where the sub-woofer goes, but I'd have thought it better placed under one of the cabin seats than in the boot.

Agree about sub woofer, being sound is multi directional in theory should work from the boot and has a bigger area to expand from but give me under seat any time.

Be interested to hear what you think with repositioning.

Today amongst other things I confirmed the dog guard from my previous MG 4 X power will not come close to fit the S6, well I didn’t think it would but as a regular dogger, with a very new model which the manufactures have not yet sorted I thought I’d check. 🧐

"A regular dogger"?? 🤭

Today have been preparing for a road trip to Scotia this weekend ( charging to 100% to test the range) and for the first time ever we are taking the mutt on the ferry to stay in a dog friendly hotel so need to sort essentials such as dog kibble, water, towels, bedding etc.

Measured the froot ( its front boot not a front trunk ***), popped over to our local BM Bargains and lo and behold found a perfectly sized kibble container which just drops in.

Well chuffed.

Question guys with the S6
The to outer rear seats are heated so the switches from them are in the rear door arm rest so to my question, can the seat heating switches be isolated by the driver to stop little fingers who might be in the rear from operating the seat heaters.?
Thank you in advance.

From the owners manual:

All front seats and some configured rear seats have
a seat a heating function. This function can only be
activated after the vehicle is started. This function
can be turned on or off through the air conditioning
control interface in the entertainment display screen.

Today I decided to give Auric his first wash in between the showers, there is no better way to get intimate with a vehicle than with a lambs wool mitt and suds to feel every curve, line and shut point.

But I digress, today I discovered that if you press and keep holding down the open button on the key fob the mirrors will sag out, the door will unlock, and then all the windows will drop to fully open. Like wise if you do the same with the close button on the fob all the windows will close, the mirror swings in and the door locks.

Now I could not find this feature in the manual, I accidentally found it when the key fob in my pocket was accidentally held down just as I was working round the car spraying the pre-wash when the windows dropped! Could have been worse, could have been the snow foam.

Funnily enough I just did mine an hour ago in prep for it's journey to Brighton and London over half-term week from tomorrow. But I did mine the old-fashioned way, with a sponge and the Supagard shampoo. The pesky birds roosting in the oak tree have been using my S6 for target practice! If it weren't for those deposits I'd put up with the mud and let the copious rain wash it free of mud... I'm not one for washing my car(s)!!

This is a function I miss, having had it on other vehicles, it would be good if MG added it to future vehicles.

I’ve also had previous experience of the feature, can’t believe it’s not mentioned in the key functions in the owners manual, the M3 has it, and a bit more. 🥳

Hi Giller
Re the windows opening it’s known as Lazy Lock function most modern vehicles feature it and many MG models have it my MG 5 trophy does also but for your reference the screenshot here is from the MGS6 manual and instructions page 91 hope it helps you understand it better.
