Things I have learned about the S6 today.

Headlights are pretty bad. I mean, the light output is good, but the reach is 20-25 meters too short with low beam. It's fine in the city and for driving at 50-60 kph, but when you go rural, and drive at 80-90, they just don't light up nearly as far as they should! Heard complaints about the high beam, but I think those are just about ok. I will fit a light bar anyway, but the low beam is terrible. Wonder if it's possible to adjust it slightly to get it to illuminate a tad further?

Use the thumb wheel just to the right (left non-UK). It's ostensibly for different load situations, but within reason you can use it to lengthen the beam reach. But be prepared to be flashed if you've set it too high.

EDIT: Given the concern about LED headlights glare, perhaps MG are proactively trying to limit that

Ha! Hadn't noticed that! Haven't seen one of those in over 10 years! Even my 2008 model Passat had automatic headlight adjustment, with a sensor connected to the rear suspension.
It was set to the lowest position, so setting it to it's 0 position will definitely help!

Pretty sure it will have adjustment to comply with "local" regulations, not had ours out much in nighttime, the other half does though and not had any complaints from her on the subject. Don't what the situation is in Norway but in UK there are a lot of complaints about the brightness of LED car lights for on coming traffic.

I'm sure it'll be a lot better (for me at least ) as I now found the hight adjustment. Weird position to put it though. Quite hidden and obscured, and pretty old school with manual adjustment. Bit disappointing that it's not matrix lights. My brother had an Enyaq, and the VAG IQ matrix lights are phenomenal! Yet to drive a Chinese car with good headlights, and I've tested a lot of them. They've got some work to do there.

To add to the angle a nicer quality heavy aftermarket replacement sub woofer into may add a few degrees.

Yes this headlight glare is becoming a very big problem, but I’m almost sure this is down to misalignment a lot of the time. Plus many people are replacing halogen blubs with LED ones in a headlight unit not designed for LEDs. Many on this forum have written about doing this; PFL MG5 headlights where quite poor but on the FL5 the lights are very good LEDs. I have owned both so I know how much better they are. Outlets like Halfords and other motor factors should be stopped from stocking them and fitting them as Halfords do for a small fee.

You would expect this issue to be far less of a problem nowadays as most modern day vehicles have auto dipping headlights as standard. So it’s not so much the vehicles that are at fault it’s what I have listed here a above. It would be great for matrix lighting to come as standard on new cars, but of course that would increase the price.
