Tomato Energy

So what happens now ?
Do i assume our cheap tariff now stops .
If so will any electric used from today be charged at a flat rate ( or tariff we are moved onto) of whichever supplier we are moved to?? so i might as well charge my car during the day and not in the cheap nightly time.

Apparently not, read a post this morning that you will still have the cheaper rate till Ofgem find you another supplier.
It was on FB I saw it so take of that what you will.

I guess, technically, Farouk was right... Tomato wasn't going anywhere!

Definition... "To go anywhere" can have a literal meaning of traveling to any place, or a figurative one of making progress or succeeding. In its negative form, "not going anywhere," it can mean a lack of physical progress, a failure to achieve a goal, or a career that isn't advancing.

Sums it up, really. 🙄🤪

You will go through the OFGEM supplier of last resort process and will probably be charged at whatever "special" tariff the new supplier moves you to as part of the SOLR process

We haven't had notification yet, maybe it's because we have a switch in progress to Smartest, they confirmed we will switch on Friday 14th so I guess it's wait and see time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we don't end up with the worst energy supplier in the land British Gas.

Maybe business customers are a little later down the pile?

Not only business customers!

I'm yet to receive any notification, other than TE told me today that I have failed to pay my (estimated) bill for October. Included in the email was a copy of that bill, which clearly states it covers the period September 1st to September 30th, which I have paid!

Ofgen say as soon as you are contacted by the SOLR you can look for your own provider. Tomato bill was paid this morning, application to Eon Next Drive made soon after.

And now the "fun" begins!

I followed the standard advice to NOT do anything about switching supplier (in hindsight, foolishly); I waited for the official confirmation, from British Gas, that I was now one of their customers. On receipt of this I tried to initiate a switch back to my previous supplier, UW (Utility Warehouse) since we have a bundle of services from them and their EV Tariff is one of the better ones for customers with a bundle.

But BG have blocked or refused the switch! No idea why, (UW don't know either) and emails to their customer service have not received any response (I suppose I should not be surprised by that!). So I am now in the position of being forced to pay BG prices for at least the next few days, though I fear, given BG's reputation for the speed and effectiveness of its customer service, it may well turn out to be weeks!:mad::mad:

BG are saying 7 to 21 days for us on their business 'deemed tariff' (read rip off). If they drag it out I will be on to Ofgem because BG have blocked our transfer to Smartest.

Mine has been blocked too, although it did give me the oppertunity to look at Good Energy which do a really good EV tariff. They are waiting until the objection is lifted.
