Moved to Good Energy's standard tariff on Saturday, 3 days later I've just had an email to say I am on their EV tariff!

I was expecting it to take over a week. Well chuffed.

12am to 5am: 6.60 pence per kWh kilowatt hour

5am to 12am: 30.83 pence per kWh kilowatt hour

Standing charge: 61.58 pence per day

I have returned to UW (Utility Warehouse) and from tomorrow will be on their EV Tariff

00:00 to 05:00: 6.889p per kWh
05:00 to 00:00; 28.983p per kWh
Standing Charge: 48.454p per day

All prices include the 5% Energy VAT.

Just waiting now for TE to refund the over-payments made after every bill ever received from them being estimated, and then BG charges???

Has anyone paid a final bill to TE who had a SMETS1 meter and did not get accurate bills. All my son had was six months of estimated bills, using 1Kw per day. Still has six months not billed.

I am in a very similar position to your son, except that I was with TE for more than a year, SMETS1 meter, every bill estimated and, when compared with usage as recorded by the HUGO Pro app, over-estimated by some margin. The result is I am owed nearly £90.

I did receive a bill officially covering October, along with a demand for payment, but I replied to point out that if I did pay that bill they would then owe me a refund in excess of £130! Needless to say, perhaps, I received no response!

But no bill for those few days in November when TE was still trading.

I am also ex-Tomato, now Good Energy (via British gas, Scottish Power and sort of So Energy).

In short, the holding company has the billing IT systems for the former Tomato Energy, and are not co-operating / allowing access for the administrator.

Nothing from TE or BG, Smartest Energy who we have moved to for our business energy havent been able to invoice us yet due to delays from the Administrators in getting the data to them. That said, Smartest Energy have been very good so far telling us not worry about bills, they will invoice us when they finally get the data.

Son has nothing from TE, but he is eligible for the warm home grant of £150, which as TE were his supplier in August, the payment went to them. Wonder if he will get anything out of them?

BG, nothing yet, but a £40 credit on the account but no message/letter. So they owe him money as we have worked it out that the cost is £29.

Were still waiting for the final bill from either Tomato or BG for my commercial premises. Our new supplier cant/wont invoice us for electricity supplied since we moved because Tomato/BG wont give them final meter readings. I have sent them photographs of the meter every week and requested to make payment on account but they say they cant do that. So far I estimate our bill to be £2920+VAT.

Why chase so often? Is there some clause in your contact about interest on late payments? Even so, wouldn't it be their problem if they won't bill you?

You can do the change without affecting your export tariff, import and export are completely independent.


No problem with that, 5p kWh is a good price as is their standing charge at 20p less than Octopus.


Aye, my Grandson, Wilf would be in full agreement with you. He enjoys the large Constantine we have, it's his goto cuddly toy as soon as he arrives.

Approximately 7yrs ago, Octopus ran a competition to win a new Jaguar.
Long story short...
During the presentation, the car was plastered in pink furry octopi & one was "reassigned" by the Jaguar dealership staff before the Octopus staff left.
It now lives with me but it's very much neglected.

If anyone is interested in rehoming him/her. They are up for grabs for the cost of the p+p. Probably the right side of £5 to anywhere in the UK?

Yes it is their problem but morally it feels wrong. We got on a great tariff with Smartest Energy and I almost feel were taking advantage of them by not paying as we go along, I feel really uncomfortable.
There isnt any interest being charged on our outstanding balance.
