Tow charging is a thing

Just saw this, I know it's a Tesla but still, I thought it was interesting. Maybe an option if you a really stuck.

Pretty sure that would invalidate your MG warranty as it specifically says not to tow it in the manual... I suppose it's much the same as regen?

Yes, possibly. But you're right, as long as you have enough power to actually turn the car on and put it in drive and keep the speed sensible it would be exactly the same as re-gen. I checked today and with regen 3 at about 45 MPH it was putting about 25KW into the battery, and that's cold.

It certainly got me thinking, maybe if it's in N the motor can still generate power and have nowhere to go, but then isn't this the case if it's 100% battery. Who knows!
