Twas the night before delivery and all round the house,
We waited in anticipation for our electric work horse

Our EV charger was installed, outside with care,
In the hope that one day, our EV would charge there

Unable to sleep, nustled snug in our beds,
We had free & off-peak charging, running round in our heads

In the morning we woke and without even a clatter,
Our silent EV rolled up and filled all of our chatter

With just an old driver, it was lively and quick,
Sport mode or normal, both did the trick

More rapid than others, they cursed as we came,
With claims of "Chinese heritage" being used to try and shame

But we MG owners, just got on with our work,
With a smug and wry smile at all of those jerks,
Cause' we know our EV makes our heart flutter,
We take no lip from any ICE or EV nutter,
With green electric charging off-peak or free,
Trying not to get stressed about range anxiety

Absolutely right. I was thinking of all the daft take-offs by Tommy Cooper, Spike Milligan, Les Dawson etc. Innocent days when soul crushing insults could be disguised as banter or humour and when no one knew about DPFs, Catalytic Converters and ERG valves. )
