Tyre Repair 'Gunk' Use By Date

Does anybody know how 'accurate' the dates on the tyre weld is?

Mine has a date of 22021124, which I assume is November of 2022, and a label saying 'Warranty Period: onboard 3 years'. As my car is just over 2 years old from new, I am assuming that means it is good for at least another year. Has anybody bothered to replace theirs when the date is up? I only intend to use it in an emergency, but I would be interested to hear

others' experiences.

These things tend to be dated conservatively so I wouldn't be in any rush to replace. If and when you do decide it's necessary it would probably be more cost effective to buy an aftermarket solution.

remember that in the UK you have a free AA cover when you service with MG garages. No need to worry about tyres ...

Also remember, putting that stuff in your tyre will make the tyre guy that has to do the actual repair or put on a new tyre, very annoyed AND you run the risk of it getting into your TPMS sensor, which will then cost you a new one plus coding.

Use this only in an extreme emergency, if you can get to the tyre shop by making stops at some petrol stations to fill it up, do this, rather than use this gunk.
