Upgrading base MG4 as much as possible...

Hi!

So I got my base MG4 (51 kwh) at a discounted price (about 18k USD new) a couple of months ago and so far I'm really happy with it. At this point I’ve gotten a rear camera installed by MG (base model came without one here by default for third world reasons) and upgraded the interior halogens to LEDs (as seen here). There's a few basic things I miss from the upper trims though and I was wondering if people here have experience and or suggestions upgrading some of them with original or perfectly matched parts.

1. Wireless Carplay/charging

For wireless CarPlay I’ve gone with the following which I’ve seen being recommended a lot here:

For wireless charging I've found this part (seems original-ish?)

2. Self folding side view mirrors

They don't fold on the base level (no idea if this install is possible):

3. Sun visors WITH vanity mirrors

I've seen people put external ones on but I think they all look as cheap as they are. The following on Aliexpress look like they are the real thing, no idea how easy the install would be (can't see any screws):

4. Speakers

Anything regarding the sound system which lacks any punch, I've seen some people install the Bose ones. Do the systems that put a subwoofer and extra speakers elsewhere work with the base model?

5. Any steering wheel cover/replacement/improvement

The base model steering wheel here doesn't come with faux leather but just plain and uncomfortable to the touch hard plastic. All the wheelcovers I've seen look fine in the promo pictures but look puffy and ill fitted in actual photos. Would appreciate any recommendations (replacing the wheel sounds extreme here).

6. Misc

For some reason MG here doesn't carry the official V2L adapter (they looked at me like I was from Mars when asked).

Are cheap options like the following functional?

Regarding these caliper covers I think they look kind of neat and sporty without being too flashy, anyone have experience changing these out?

Good luck with your upgrades @JanS, there are used sun visors for £25-£30 each on ebay, and some say free worldwide postage, so probably worth a look.

I recommend the JBL Stage 2 604C speakers. They include replacement tweeters and bass/midrange drivers that fit the MG4 original equipment locations and significantly upgrade the sound quality.

There are some links to installation instructions I can look up if you are interested.

I have them and the 624 coaxial units installed in the rear doors of my "Essence 77" aka Trophy ER.

You only need the 604C units for the dash mount tweeters and front door speakers of your base model.

I have owned that carplay adapter for months and personally don't like it and it constantly disconnects for me. As for wireless charging though I 3d printed an apple magsafe charger holder to sit in there so my phone is actually held in place. I have a Trophy so the upgrade wasn't actually needed I just found my phone fell a lot.

I find that sometimes this happens to me after updating iOS. Forgetting the connection and re-pairing it often fixes this for me. I had drop out issues with my Ottobox, but find the Carlinkit mini a lot better.

I tried reconnecting it after forgetting it but I have the same problems still.

For sound upgrade I recommend finding a dealer that has audiotec-fisher. They do car specific upgrades.
