Hi everyone,
I’m facing a persistent water leakage issue from the sunroof in my MG and have been chasing this with my authorized dealer for over 1.5 years without resolution. I’ve also tried contacting MG Motor Europe, but I’m not getting any response.

My car is still under warranty, but it expires next year, so I’m concerned this will remain unresolved.

Has anyone faced a similar issue or can suggest how to escalate this effectively with MG / dealer / consumer channels?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you can see any drain holes when the sunroof is open.
Get yourself one of these to poke down the holes.
Do it gradually though i.e. poke the cleaning rod in a few inches then pull it out. And gradually increase the depth. That way you'll minimise the risk of it getting stuck.

Edit.......
Upon reflection, cancel that idea because the cleaning rod won't be long enough.

See this thread. I had the same myself and cured mine but be careful, unlike me lol....

As Biker 67 says but use some strimmer line which you will need to stretch out to de-coil , and also round/smooth off any sharp ends. An air line or some of that compressed air in a can for blowing out computer fluff could blow or loosen any obstruction.
If the sunroof has two drain points they might join with a T piece and then run down the A pillar as one tube. Maybe a joint has separated or even a tube has split in which case the above won't make any difference.

I have just filed a case with the Motor Ombudsman against MG UK & EMG Ipswich.

Assuming you are in the UK you have the right to get MG to buy back the car up to 6 years old or replace it with an equivalent under the 2015 sale of goods act.

I informed the dealer involved and MG UK that if they didn't fix my car in 2 weeks I would go the ombudsman. They haven't I did. I only found this email for MG UK
UK Customer service <[email protected]>

Good luck.
