USB ports live all the time

My 2 USB ports at the front are live even when the car is power off, Is this normal? as I believed the ports should be unpowered when the car is switch off.

When the car is locked usb ports are unpowered.

If you open the car the usb powers on for about 30 seconds then powers off. Power up the car the ports stay on. Power off the car usb stay on for 30s then turn off.

So there's enough power straight from the USBs for a dashcam, that's handy to know.

I have a wireless (inductive) charger phone mount, which has a little motor inside to grip the phone automatically when I place it on the charger. These units draw just about the maximum allowable power according to the USB spec' but work fine in the MG .
