Is it worth looking at the types of mp3 files you have to see if any stand out that won't play? E.g. compression rates, CBR/VBR, any embedded data...

Didn't notice that but the stick ran very hot.

These sticks get hot in every car I have put them in.

I have been trying to get a USB to work in my car and have formatted it to FAT32 (as per other answers) but it will only recognise only one song or one album (when there are lots done the same way on it). Any advice accepted!

Are you using the right usb socket and what file format are you using?

I used an 8Gb Cruzer(USB2), to update the Naviextras SatNav system, with the new EV Charging Locations in the UK.
I tried the RH port but it didn't respond to the 'Navigation Update - Start' function in settings, tried the LH socket with the Mobile pictures above it, and everything worked a treat.
I got the update from Naviextras.com 'Toolbox' , just install the 'Toolbox', then when the USB stick is inserted, the 'Toolbox' fires up and gives the FREE update options, job done.
