My 2020 MG ZS EV is generating several error messages (auto-braking, pedestrian sensor, ACC not working). I booked it into an MG dealer, who took a quick look and told me the faults are caused by the front sensor (just below the number plate) having been knocked out of place. The car has had no collisions, but has had occasional minor scrapes here and there, nothing more than a tiny patch of paint chipped off. Nevertheless, the MG dealer said this would not be covered by the warranty because it's not a manufacturing fault. MG Customer Services told me they are powerless to do anything.

Do I have any options apart from paying to fix the issue? Anyone have any similar experiences?

Are you sure the front camera is ok, as condensation takes it out time and again during the Winter, and with it all the front facing 'safety' features.

It's pretty easy to buy a new front camera if that's what you are talking about. If you are fairly handy at DIY replacing it is easy. It does mean popping the front bumper unit off though so you need another person to assist.

Are you confusing the different cameras and sensors ?

Camera at the top of the windscreen is the one that it uses for the lane keeping assistance.

The small camera at the front of the bumper is only used for the 3D feature and to show the camera image on the screen for parking

The black square sensor in the middle, below the camera is the radar, the car uses to measure the distance to the cars in front of it.

The car will throw no ACC related messages if the camera you seem to be talking about, where damaged or defective.
