How foolish do I feel ? I have just learned from another site that when type 2 charging, the dangly bit from my cars socket fits nicely into the dangly cover of my type 2 cable. No more wet cover. !
All these years and I had never sussed that. I'm sure everyone else on here knew it all the time.

mmm nope, me neither, wrong shape on the MG4 anyway, I'll need to check the S5 later.

The dangly bit from my car's socket covers the DC pins, so that cover never even gets removed when Type 2 (home) charging.

(The MG4 doesn't have any cover for the Type 2 part .. not really needed given that the port is at the back-left of the car).

The wife's byd cap is a tight fit when plugged into the charger cable cap, however my mg5 is a sloppy fit but easy to separate after a charger.
