Hi Everyone, I'm picking up my new MG 4 EV next Saturday. This is my first electric vehicle.
I have a couple questions if that is ok.
I will need to buy a Type 2 to Type 2 Charging cable. Is it worth buying 32amp, 22 kw 3 phase cable and can I use it with my MG 4 EV.
The garage is trying to get me to buy "Exterior and Interior Protection" are these good product. Never had this done before to any car I owned.

Last question any tips and advice to avoid silly mistakes with my MG 4.
Thanks & best wishes
Paul

Regarding the charging cable, if your car is a my23 model, then a single phase cable will be sufficient. Easiest way to know is to see if it has a rear wiper. If not, get the 3 phase cable.

They usually charge over the odds and they are applied by an inexperienced operative. You are better off going to a specialist car detailer if you think you need such protection.

Hi Paul,
Welcome to the forum.
There is a lot of information on here and you will find answers to most of your questions by using the search bar.
You can check if your car has three phase charging by checking if the L2 and L3 pins on the type2 socket are populated.

Paul, and congrats on your new motor. 🙂👍

If you can ge a 3-phase 22kW cable for no more cost than a single phase one, then it might be worth it for future-proofing. (i.e. I've got a 3-phase cable even though my SE is only single phase. But then again it only cost me £85 via the Tesla app - back when Tesla were offering the cables to non-Tesla owners). :)

My cable lives in its poly bag under the bonnet on top of the plastic tray. :)
