What happens if you forget to turn off?

I’ve only had my car a week. This morning I rushed for a train and half way to london couldn’t remember pressing the off button or locking the doors.

What happens if you get out of the car, taking the key fob with you, but not turning off or locking the car?

Does it just sit there till it goes flat? Could someone get in and drive it off?

If you try to get out of the whilst it is still "on", it bongs and a warning appears on the fascia screen, and the indicators flash.

The moral of this thread is, do not disable the bongs and warning beeps. They are there for a reason. A lot of MG owners I know disable the function. I appreciate the warnings the car gives

The only bong I have turned off is the blind spot warning. Otherwise it continually goes off on a motorway and is very annoying. The flashing light in the wing mirror is quite sufficient to alert you. I always visually check anyway instinctively from muscle memory from moving lanes.
