What OBDII reader are you using??

As per the title, anyone using the VGgate iCar pro 3 or 4 OBDII reader? If not what are folks using please. I've searched on here but there doesn't seem to be much info.

Any comments or advice about these readers will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would have thought that most OBD-II devices would work but more importantly would be which app you are using and what information are you able to pull out of the car?

I think that's right BOB. I used to have a half decent OBD2 reader years ago. But I let that go when I retired, & it wouldn't have been any good on today's cars anyway. The thing that's more important it seems is the reliability of these devices. The cheap ones can be ok for some but not work for others. The Vgate iCar one that I reference above seems a good bet according to reviews & works ok with many apps including Car Scanner. Just wondering if anyone else has one & if they are pleased with it when used on their MG. Thanks for the comments.

I have a VGate scanner, played with it twice, and now it goes unused. Anyone want to buy a second hand one? hah
I just couldnt get into the whole ABRP and scanner thing.

Thanks for the info HantsRob. Have you used it with a diagnostic app such as Car scanner? Or some other app perhaps? Did it work ok?

Yes, I got SOH and all that stuff, and it linked to ABRP without an issue.
