Loads of plums on the roadside trees around here. Luckily our neighbour collects them and gives them out to people so we seem to get a bowl of them every few days.Actually my very own exclusive plum conserve ( trying to go upmarket with this exquisite product range )

Galloway's Meat and Potato pie, sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce and a buttered barm. Followed by Ambrosia Rice Pudding and Custard. And twas bloody lovely!

It's a thing in Wigan. Putting a pie in a buttered barm or bun or bread cake or bap or roll, or oven bottom muffin or stottie (or whatever you call that wheat-based thing where you live) in salty's picture.Is this some southern sorcery (or saucery) putting pies in barm cakes ?
