What you having for your Tea/Dinner, tonight. ?

I’m basing tonight’s repast around a couple of typewriter food snacks - corn on the cob.
I’ve some tatties, carrots, tomatoes and Susanna mentioned tofu or was it quorn ? the other day and so I couldn’t pass quorn in the Tesco fridge. I’m tempted to break open the Tamarind paste to concoct a sauce. And I suppose some rice will feature on the bill somehow.

Loads of plums on the roadside trees around here. Luckily our neighbour collects them and gives them out to people so we seem to get a bowl of them every few days.

Seeing as I know what I'll be eating for the next 2 days (at least) Having a simple, quick tea, tonight.
Galloway's Meat and Potato pie, sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce and a buttered barm. Followed by Ambrosia Rice Pudding and Custard. And twas bloody lovely! 🙂👍

Once upon a time an old bearded Scotsman thought he would have haggis and potatoes for his dinner. He had had exactly the same the night before and had stored the leftovers in his fridge. I suppose I aught to have started “ twice upon a time ?”

So anyway, he took the dish out and covered it with a plate. He put it in the microwave and switched it on for three minutes. It wasn’t quite hot enough so he put it back in for two minutes. After about a minute and a half there was a fearful explosion and a rattling of crockery.

The terrified old gentleman slowly went over and opened the microwave. There was potato and haggis splattered all over the insides.

So he took out the remainder of the food and put it on a plate.

So after his dinner, he had to spend an extra 15 minutes dehaggisifying the oven and clearing the shrapnel from the exploded potatoes

Tell me you buttered the barm, then put the pie IN the barm, like a Wigan Kebab or "Slappy"...?

Is this some southern sorcery (or saucery) putting pies in barm cakes ?
It's a thing in Wigan. Putting a pie in a buttered barm or bun or bread cake or bap or roll, or oven bottom muffin or stottie (or whatever you call that wheat-based thing where you live) in salty's picture.

OK ! I get it, you are all screwing with my head and cultural heritage, we do have similar pastries here , Viande et pomme de terre torte, saucisse en croute , riz au lait all very good , but some how not the same. And most importantly, not served on a bap, chip muffin, fish muffin defines who we are. My wife ( southerner ) does not get it, who is the heathen?
Local supermarket has HP sauce at 4 quid 250 ml bottle , that, makes you feel more disconnected than LHD?
Merry Christmas.
