Anyone experienced discolouration/oxidisation of the wheels on their HS PHEV? Mine is 6 months old with 3750 miles on the clock and the rear offside wheel is badly discoloured/marked as can be seen in the attached photographs. It’s only that one wheel - the others all appear o k at this time which would tend to suggest that it’s a manufacturing defect. Had the same problem on all 4 wheels of my previous Honda CR-V which were replaced under warranty. Hoping MG take a similar view!

I had something relatively similar occur on my old Nissan X-trail. Someone once told me that it was likely that the automatic car wash (that I frequently used) caused it, but I have no proof of that.
=> I now rarely use automatic car washes, and instead go back to the good old-fashioned washing-it-by-hand-myself routine. Gives me modest exercise, so I reckon it's a win-win for me.

However, my damage was more-or-less constant on all 4 wheels.
=> I agree that if it only occurs on one of your wheels then it does look like something specific to that wheel.

On mine, delivered Nov 25, the front N/S is exactly the same. The Dealership order a replacement, but only discovered that it was ‘damaged’ after removing the wheel and taking the tyre off!!
They have ordered a replacement, which is going to be fitted on Friday Feb 27th. Fingers crossed.

It would appear to be a bit of a common problem as when I visited the local dealership I was told that I was the third HS they had seen in a week with exactly the same problem!

Indeed, they were somewhat surprised that it was only 1 of the wheels as the other vehicles had 3 and 4 affected respectively.

Am waiting for a call back from them to have a replacement wheel fitted so can’t complain too much at the moment.

My dealership replaced the wheel on Friday, 28th. All ok, but only after my previous rant concerning them not bothering to check the new wheel was ok, prior to my driving 50 mile there and back, and not updating the software etc.
This time they also updated the software and corrected a few other niggles, so I’m happy.
