Good morning just taken delivery of my ZSEV and wondered if anyone had some advice about bike rack for the back of the car. I currently have a Halfords 3 bike rack but not sure this would be suitable... anyone got any ideas?? Thanks

I have a Thule clamp on rack, but am waiting for my MG to be delivered. When it is I'll try the rack and let you'll know the result.

Hi. It's been two weeks since I've become a proud MG ZS EV owner.
Last weeks I've been busy with driving/getting to know the car/charging and with choosing, buying and installing a charge station (since I have solarpower I chose the Zappy 2 with Harvi and Hub.)

And today I've had time to check if my Thule Clipon 3 9104 would fit and let you all know the result.
The answer is NO. It Doesn't fit.
In fact Thule has no bikeracks available at all for our car.
Now searching for a solution....

But hurray, what a comfortable car it is. And yes it came with the comfort 2 update, recognizable by the temperature and range being always visable. Strangely the range is 268 km, so it somehow didn't get the extra 20km which is supposed to come with that update... Maybe because it was still on first charge, hence no 100% battery charge before it was updated?

Hi,

Are you sure that the Comfort Pack 2 was done? I spoke to my dealer today and he stated that "the software update will only be installed to cars manufactured after 18th June 2020 and that he has cars going out tomorrow which will not have the update as it is not free and not a warranty upgrade. If I or anyone else are getting a new ZS EV probably in the next 6 months wont get it unless they ask and pay £120.00" I can not believe that this is the stance of most dealerships!!!!! The real laugh came when I asked the service department why they were charging the £120.00 "its because MG will not pay them for the time it takes" when I stated it only takes 1 1/2 hours max there was no comment apart from "we need to charge for ramp time" What at a day rate that is!!!!

Well yes. Because the bongs are more silent then with the car we got for the testdrive, the car doesn't honk when I leave the car with the keys still inside, the available range is permanently shown on the cockpit (below left where originally the clock was situated) and the outside temperature is permanently shown on the media screens. Those are the most obvious changes for cp2 update.
But I have this car via private lease in the Netherlands, that's a lot different than in the UK. In the EU the update is free of charge, as far as I know. And I made clear in advance I would't except the car without the updates.

That's great, yet again the good old UK well behind again!! I will keep plugging away !!!
Keep enjoying and biking if you can!!

I guess there are severall options left.
A. Decathlon bike rack for backdoor (don't know the correct English word)
B. Aliexpress - Rockbros bikeholder with suctioncaps for roof.
C. Put bike in car

Decathlon Rack, does it look like the attached screenshot? Suction cups on glass roof ??
I just want a tow bar.... ?? can one be found in Europe I wonder??

Towbar... ?
I saw a thread about that subject on this forum. It is possible to use the towbar from the gasversion of the ZS? But not allowed to tow with EV, carrying bikes on a bikerack isn't towing though...

Yes that's true I posted it... , I just can not find one to buy! MG could possibly sell me a tow bar for £600.00. They retail from the manufacturer for £218.00 however they have none in stock and can not give me a time when they will. Are they available in the Netherlands from other suppliers other than MG?

I've found a specialist in the North of my country who makes towbars specially for the MG ZS EV! It's not a real towbar, only for carrying a bikerack and bikes.

Maybe they understand English and sell them without install?
If you'd like I'm happy to ask (I can't use it myself without consent of my dealer because I'm leasing the car)

Would this be ok to send to them?
Goedendag, ik heb een MGZSEV en wens een trekhaak om een fietsenrek te dragen. Is dit iets dat u kunt vervaardigen en naar het VK kunt verzenden?
dank u
