Why does the radio volume go down when I put the car in reverse ?

As in the the title, I can't see any logic in it. :unsure:
 
mmmm.... haven't noticed that one yet. Is the car trying to suggest you shouldn't be singing along whilst trying to reverse?
 
That would make sense if I didn't have a reversing camera and cross traffic alert.
 
You can adjust the volume when driving backwards and when driving forward. The car then remembers the volume. I love this feature.
 
Adjusting the loudeness also works with the warning tones for speed cameras if you have Tomtom Go installed on an iPhone. Very usefull.
Tried adjusting the volume whilst in reverse today and it didn't work :(
 
And helpful to only concentrate on 2 things at once, reversing and the mouthpiece in the passenger seat
"Shut up, I'm trying to concentrate" usually works for turning the volume down on the mouthpiece for me. 🤭
