Picked up my S5 EV a few days ago and am absolutely loving it. Have the Essence (Trophy) 62.2kWh battery version.

One little issue I’ve noticed though is that the wireless phone charger (I’m using an iPhone 13 Pro) disconnects when going around corners. It happens maybe once or twice per 20-30 min drive. I have to then pick it up and put it back down to re-register the charging.

Wondering if others have experienced the same and if anyone has worked out any solutions?

I am wondering if it’s due to the case I have (smooth plastic), meaning it just slides around on the soft material.

Cheers.

My wife has a plastic case on her IPhone, it has a strap attached to the back case, in order that you can pass you fingers through it.
It was bought in America and most of them have this feature over there ?.
It will not charge on the pad in our S5 as Ian had kindly pointed out, the distance is too great, if I remove the back case, it works just fine !.
My phone also has a flat plastic case on the back and also the induction ring for charging, it charges just fine without any issues with the case in place.
But the phone does get warm to the touch, when using these pads I find.

I too can report mixed results. My wife's Pixel (no case) charges perfectly, but my work provided Samsung (in a case) . . . charges sometimes, stops other times. I can't be bothered to take it out of the case, but I suspect that would improve the results.

My own phone case has a magsafe ring on it and the car charger will not charge it wirelessly at all. Works fine if I take the case off or try one without the magsafe ring. I went 3rd party and set up a magsafe charger the phone just attaches itself to.
