Having just installed a dash cam for parking coverage I really wish that MG had a parking mode utilising the existing cameras like Tesla, it is frustrating knowing they are there and not being able use them for this purpose.
So does anyone have features they would add to a wish list ?

Hi, how did you connect it, permanently or via the 12V socket? I want to install mine in the next few days, with a rear camera. But I haven't found any instructions yet on how to connect it permanently to the fuse box.
Can you help me with that?

😁, I already have that kit for my Viofo 229 dashcam. Now I just need to figure out which fuse to use. Is it true that the HS also has 3-pin micro fuses?

Hi, I used an adapter that feeds off the OBD port and can be switched into permanent supply or just drive mode it has a sensing circuit that detects if the battery drops below 11.6 volts and switches off to preseve the battery here is the link :

I'm in Australia and not sure why you need this OBD port. Can you explain a little? I've always just plugged into the USB port in other cars

Skodas now have the standard charging pad included. The USB connections are cost savers. China can get their hands on a lot of their old technology to put into our cheap cars 👍. It's annoying to say the least.

I just installed front and rear dashcams, which was quicker than expected.
Be careful when laying the cable for the rear camera! The airbags are located at the top of the roof, so lay the cable behind the airbags on the metal and secure it with strong adhesive tape if possible. Do not lay the cable in front of the airbags!!
By the way, you don't have to remove the entire cover under the steering wheel; just take out the small flap, and the fuses are behind it.
I have no problem with USB-C. The dealer gave me two A-to-C adapters, and my Android Auto WiFi adapter also has A. My mobile phone with QI charging goes into a separate QI charging holder, where it is cooled by the ventilation and a small fan in the holder. In the original compartment, it gets very warm, especially now in summer.

If using a dash cam as a parking monitor you need a permanent power supply and the OBD port is a convenient source for this the USB ports are powered down when the ignition is off.

Thankyou. We use them mostly to record accidents, so guess that's why I've always just plugged it in.
