Worn out coupling rod

[MG4 Standard]

Hello everyone,

during the first maintenance a broken (worn out) coupling rod was found on the front right of my MG4 SE LR (German Car just 12.000 km).

Has this happened anywhere else - or is this an isolated case?

Btw - NO guarantee as this is a wearing part, pay first then apply for goodwill if necessary...

Seems very early to be worn out.
A coupling rod or drop link as it's known over here should last for years.
Perhaps it wasn't tightened up properly at the factory and the play has made it fail.

If that had been the case you would of heard it knocking from new though?

It should be covered until at least the first TUV test (3 years ?) as it's a safety issue being part of the suspension.

Next week the coupling rod will be replaced (by guarantee) - took some time (delivery of spare parts / arguing with MG that this is not my fault)

Coupling rod was replaced (guarantee/ without extra money) today - the car is pretty silent (again)
