Wow

I found all around 2.5 bar perfect and the most comfortable ride, however, the tyre pressure monitor doesn’t seem terribly accurate. I find it over states the position. Oddly over the past few weeks the pressures are reported to have gone up and stayed up.

Checked the pressures again as delivered from new last week. They were all 3.1bar!!
Have to admit Darlington Drive MG not the best. So obviously didnt check tyres during PDC.

Lowered to 2.6 at moment and see if any better later when I go out.
If still a rumble, hopefully get the Bridgestones swapped for Cross Climates with a part exchange deal.

We have an S5 and an HS PHEV. The TPMS doesn't seem that accurate on either - I put the tyres up on both cars to 37psi today, as per the manual, and the difference in ride was very noticeable and not in a good way.

Used our S5 today on a couple of different stretches of dual carriageways.
The road surfaces varied between, not so great and pretty smooth.
On the best sections covered with the low noise surface tarmac, at a constant speed between 55 - 57 MPH.
I could definitely hear in the cabin, what sounded like a tyre drone.
If I lowered the speed to about 45MPH it was not as bad and increase the speed slowly to about 60 MPH is was less noticeable.
But in that mid fifty’s speed band, it was very noticeable !.
The noise IS intrusive and unwanted.
It was very similar noise that we had experienced, when we had factory fitted Bridgestone’s on our previous VW Golf GTE.
Replacing all 4 tyres 🛞 turned out to be the best decision.
Problem solved !.

Thats exactly the same range I am finding the noise slight rumble.?
As I mainly do town driving then will live with it until I need new ones. Then defo CC3's for me again.

I checked the tyre pressures and made them the same to within .1 PSI

Front left shows 2 psi lower than that the rest.

Is there anything to be done, or do I just suck it up?

Is it always the two psi difference even if left unadjusted for a couple of days? (Continued loss would indicate a bit of leakage at the valve or tyre / rim interface)
If it’s consistently dropping 2 psi on that same wheel try setting it 2 psi higher and see if it joins the other three at the correct pressure and maintains it. Or try deflating that tyre quite a bit before refilling as it might be a bit of dirt needing dislodged ??

I know mine are all 2.5 Bar.
But the L/H and R/H differ according to the App.
The App reports the tyre pressure status as “normal” as you can see.
Close enough for me 👍.

All,

I might be in the minority and certainly do not want to offend anyone. And I think life is too short to listen to tyre noise. I have Spotify on blasting my very eclectic mix and couldn't be bothered to listen to anything else. Yes, I know my wife says I am "half" deaf anyway.

Yep ,my MGS5's tyre noise is nothing to my DAF XG on the M25 concrete section

Enjoy but keep the windows closed if you’re alongside me 😂

Everybody is different and that is great !.
Personally for me, one of the big attractions to owning an EV, is that it offers a really nice peaceful / stressless environment to drive in.
Some easy listening playing low in the back ground is nice.
I don’t want this peace to be corrupted by some unwelcome and avoidable tyre noise !.
This road noise is likely to go unnoticed in an ICE car of course, given the other noise produced by the ICE etc.
But in an EV this type of noise is very easy to detect and noticable.
If you like your music loud, then great you are never going to notice any sort of noise issues, or ever going to be bothered by them.
Hey……Then rock on 🎸 my friends !.
